I feel soft and gentle
Malleable and open
Like I just touched dew on a flower's single petal with the very top of my finger
I feel calm and grounded
With a floating, gliding quality
Underneath my feet
I feel delicate but not fragile
Like I'm being held by the breath of the earth
I feel the breathing of living all around me
I am suspended in it
Cradled and supported

It's not a salient feeling
It requires attention
Tip toeing into it
And balancing on top of it
As fleeting as a gentle summer rain
Hovering around you and moving through you
Effortlessly

It's sincere but not earnest
It's a whisper traveling on fog
Clearing and glowing

as soon as it swaddles you
You grasp for its name
And it vanishes

But perhaps it can be captured
In a single petal of a flower
Or the very tip of your finger
Or the feeling of the rain
Perhaps it is the peace of the soul
